All other websites, so far, work fine while connected. nothing works unless I disconnect from torguard. I have tried different servers, protocols, specific and auto gen port/auth, tunnel types. Guess I'll stop paying for Netflix now and just pay for a real-debrid service to pirate.I cannot get to. Also looks like genuine users in the US are being blocked as well and Netflix main response so far has been to either contact your ISP to see why the IP address is listed as a VPN OR go pound rocks and pirate. Only seeing Netflix original shows through the vpn, not completely blocked at least. I was binge watching some shows on Netflix before they clamped down any further but now I'm also having problems. I haven't watched Netflix but it's no big deal to me. I understand it's very easy to say that but how can they not work out licensing deals to get viewers from around the world not profitable for them? No worries. That sucks! I'd honestly love to see a higher price tier to see content from around the world. Please.Bezos saw that from space and told them to cut that off. Does Netflix lower their standards after some time or once someone is identified do they block the IP? I assume they are using DNS and other network tracking to see if a user is bypassing their protocols.Īre there other alternatives or is that just is now that Netflix done this? I may try to make a US account and try but I think if I do they will instantly block my IP so not worth it. I guess asking for an IP change won't do me any good. I guess Netflix just doesn't want me to use a VPN with their service. My DNS is not leaking, my IP's location is in NYC, and no issues with any other services. Thank you so much for all the information! This really helped. Netflix frowns on any VPN usage, even within the US users have reported getting the message about disabling their vpn.įYI I'm using a Canadian Netflix account to stream US and UK content and it still works. If you aren't leaking DNS then you could try to register a US Netflix account, however I think they would still detect the proxy/vpn usage. Getting geoip location updated for a vpn IP is sometimes hard and often impossible as some of the providers state flat out on their sites that they will not update IPs allocated to VPNs. This was a problem for me a a year or two ago and I just requested and paid for an IP change. If you aren't leaking DNS then check the geolocation results and ensure they all show US and not another location like Spain/UAE/UK/Columbia. If you are leaking DNS then you need to do some googling to see how to stop vpn dns leaks for your router. Here's another good one that checks multiple geoip databases as well: If you've set up WG or OpenVPN in your router correct, then your results should only show Cogent.įor location you can check here: no need to register or anything just load the site and scroll down a bit. I meant to include the sites to check.įor DNS leaks you can try the extended test here: OR here: OR here: I assume if I make an American based Netflix account I should be okay if I use my Streaming IP.ĭamn, I knew I forgot something. I think because that account is American based and address/zip code to NYC, my credit card paying is US based, and my VPN is located in NYC as well so I don't think Hulu will be an issue but the possible leaky DNS may be an issue. I also Use Hulu with Live TV and works with no issue. I confirmed my VPN's location is showing where it should be. For a networking beginner like me, may I please ask how to see my DNS via my local network vs connected to my VPN? Like a previous comment stated, would requesting a IP change work as well after I confirm any DNS leak? I updated from OpenVPN to Wireguard when it first launch which was a year ago, I think. Have you recently switched from OpenVPN to Wireguard? When you do a IP location lookup what location does it provide? It's possible your real DNS is leaking and that's how netflix is identifying you as using a vpn/proxy. Hmm both my US streaming IPs are working so either something has recently changed in your config or Netflix is cracking down on viewing outside where the original account is located, which I doubt as we would surely have heard a big stink about this somewhere online already.
